Kabafita Lower Basic School Ex-Students Association on Friday 16th June 2023 donated seventeen waste bins to Kabafita Lower Basic School, Brikama.
The donated bins are meant for helping the school to keep its waste for sanitary purposes.
Kabafita Ex-students started the campaign with the theme “No Paper Must Littered Around,” they began the campaign with their school.
Noting that waste management is a global issue affecting schools and everyone.
Speaking at the presentation, Omar Komma the President of Kabafita Ex-students Association, on behalf of the Ex-students said, the little that they can offer to their former school (Kabafita Lower Basic School) is the 17 waste bins.
“This school has given us so much that whatever we do is less than compared to our dreams for the school. We hope this will go a long way in tackling waste management issues in the school,” said the President of the Ex-students Association.
He added that they have a lot of dreams for the school in the pipeline and they are opening their door to stakeholders in making Kabafita Lower Basic an outstanding school that nobody can resist, while they will continue keeping the legacy of the school high as usual.
Komma therefore thanked the school management and the teachers as well as their relevant stakeholders, for their tireless efforts to keep the school a comfort for student’s learning environment.
The school management while receiving the gesture thanked the Ex-Students for the gesture, in a closed-door meeting between the two partners, the school elaborated on some of the challenges the school is facing on daily bases and they appealed for support from the Ex-Students, and others.
