The Gambia Football Federation (GFF), Member Association (MA) five days course for 30 elite referees is underway at the National Technical Training Centre in Old Yundum.
The annual course is jointly organised by the GFF and FIFA and it is meant to enhance the capacity of referees in the areas of understanding the new concept of football and how to maintain the fitness level of referees amongst a host of other thematic areas.
Declaring the course opened on behalf of GFF President, Lamin Kaba Bajo, the Technical Director Mr. Sang Ndong thanked the GFF Executive Committee for approving and supporting a worthy course, describing the convergence as a vital capacity-building project.
He noted that the GFF’s vision is premised on the capacity building of personnel to enhance the growth and development of football.
He, however, urged the participants to take the course with seriousness while thanking the course instructor Felix Tangawarima for the knowledge impacted on Gambian referees.
The MA Course is one amongst many capacity-building projects lined up by the GFF to enhance the knowledge and skills of stakeholders tasked to discharge the various functions of football.
The ceremony was also attended by staff of the GFF Technical Department and members of the GFF Referees Committee.
