Bagging a Master’s Degree in Renewable Energy Engineering and BEng (Hons) in Electrical and Electronic Engineering annexed with a Certificate of Merit, Marrie Socks, leader of the Alliance for Social Democrat Movement of Change among other women celebrated the success of Ya Joof called her a Brilliant Mind.
Ya Joof who is the first female to work on high voltage transmission lines is a 36-year young beautiful housewife and a mother of 4 adorable kids.
During her master’s project, she worked on real live exciting projects including the use of Electric Vehicles as storage medium for small electricity grids and linking a solar farm in the Sahara Desert to the United Kingdom using an HVDC link. She is now kick starting her career as an Electrical Engineer with the Transmission and Distribution team of a well-reputed company based in Edinburgh.
Commending her on her achievement, Marrie Socks said she “is a young lady, who not only studied and has a Master’s degree in engineering, but also working in the field of study in that country, unlike others that will just come home with the degrees and get a ministerial position with no experience at all.”
Once again, she stated on her page saying “Bravo Ya Joof you make us proud, you make Gambia proud, I am super proud of you.”
