The Spokesperson of the APRC ‘No to Alliance,’ Pa ModouMbowe has urged political parties to work together for the better Gambia and put the incumbent to the task.

In an interview with this medium, Pa Mbowe said: Political Parties need to work together since the election is over for the greater good going forward, and put the incumbent to task, to successfully implement the priority needs and aspirations of the populace.

He added that the declaration statement of President Barrow regarding the 2026 elections is something he is entitled to since there are no restrictions in his pronouncement as far as the constitution and laws of the land are concerned. “But, it’s up to the electorates to determine who leads them and for how long. The 1997 Constitution has no term limit for the presidency.

Meanwhile, he said there is nothing impressive about what the President said in his SONA, “the president made the usual statement which was not questionable by the NAMs at the material time but adjourned for his vice to attend four (4) days later with an avalanche of questions to be answered.”

He stated that it is not about what the people hear from him but for him (President Barrow) to answer the questions of the parliamentarians/lawmakers.

“He said whatever we need to hear at this material time but scrutiny was denied in the hour of need. The session was adjourned to Monday the 12th which never allowed lawmakers to ask relevant questions for the president to answer,” he said.
