Hon Bakary K Badgie, National Assembly Member for FoniBintang Karanai constituency has disclosed that the recent heavy windstorm that hit the country affected 27 households in Foni Bintang Karainai.
Speaking to The Voice, Hon Badgie said “The beginning of rainy season is always like this but this year, we are seriously affected. As I am speaking now, about 27 households are affected by the storm. We are calling on philanthropists and anyone who can support the people of Foni Bintang.”
He added that the victims are left with no option but to manage the little resources they have hence the destruction is unexpected, as the victims never planned for this cause but happened naturally.
He stressed that, since the destruction happened on Friday, the victims were not given any aid, saying most of the victim roofs were blown off by the heavy storm while some of them collapsed.
“The government can automatically help. To be honest, but as of now, they are yet to come to support us. My advice to the government is to take the necessary steps to support these people as expected, the victims don’t have the resources to do so,” he pointed out.
