Gambia Democratic Congress (GDC) party leader, Hon. Mama Kandeh, has recently condemned the circulating picture of the former Mayor of KMC Yankuba Colley depicting the condition of his illness on social media.
In an audio obtained by this medium, Hon Kandeh expressed dismay over the sick photo of former Mayor Yankuba Colley circulating on social media said he is dissatisfied with the person who took the picture and shared it on social media because no human being should disclose the privacy of another.
“The only thing that the people of GDC have to do with Yankuba Colley at this moment, is to pray for him to get better and get back his strength because what happened to him can happen to anyone else. We need to be mindful that no one would like to be treated like this or his relative to be treated like this. So, the picture should not be circulating on the forums much especially that of GDC forums we don’t need it in our forum.
“Now that we are aware of his situation, we are praying for him to recover and get back his strength and continue to work with his family and I want all the militants of GDC to pray for him and anyone in a similar situation. It is undone to circulate the picture of an ill person on social media, “he reiterated.
The GDC Party leader, however, expressed his dissatisfaction with the type of politics that is happening in the Gambia, noting that people should be mindful of the things they do.
“Today is Yankuba Colley, tomorrow, it could be anyone else I know the GDC militants will not make any negative comments but as the Party Leader I must give a piece of advice hence the picture is still circulating in different forums,” he stressed.
