The Fajikunda Major Health Center on Saturday, 15th July 2023 held its annual data presentation and awards night in a grand style at the Dream Makers in Senegambia.
The event was meant to showcase the services offered by the health center, presentation of service delivery data, and as well used to appraise and award some of the dedicated staff of the center and institutions for their support to the Fajikunda Major Health Center in the past year. The event was well attended as it brought together different health officials, residents of the Fajikunda community, and a large number of stakeholders.
Delivering a keynote address on behalf of Alagie Sankareh the Regional Director of Health Services Western Region 1 Kanifing Fatou Sanyang, Regional Principal Nursing Officer who expressed delight at the event.
She said the event has allowed looking at the services offered for scrutiny and channeled ways to improve the center service delivery.
She noted that health is the business of all that should be practiced with professionalism, saying according to MerriumWebster, it is “the skill, good judgment and polite behaviour that is expected from a person who is trained to a job well.”
She quickly encouraged doctors, nurses, and the support staff of the facility to continue with the hard work, “more importantly the RBF is here to strengthen the quality service delivery.”
Madam Sanyang, therefore, congratulated the awardees for attaining their best performance in their areas of specialization, saying “As an institution, we are honoured that we have you as our staff and hope that you will maintain the good name of this facility y all indications in promoting patient-health staff relationship and remain to be our faithful ambassadors.”
She said, the awarded staff, have showcased their collective strength and hard work in providing the best quality of healthcare the population deserved from them.
In this address, she encouraged the Health Centre Management Committee of Fajikunda Major Health Center to work closely with the Regional Health Directorate Western Region 1 to ensure standards are being maintained at all times for the provision of quality healthcare and patient outcomes.
She however implored them to increase their responsiveness to meet the changing demographic, social, economic, and epidemiological needs including pandemics and local outbreaks as well as recognizing the importance of the need of the public and redesigning systems to meet local demand, values, and traditions.
And also, the use of traditional structures such as Kabilos, Kaffos, traditional healers, and religious leaders in their health interventions.
However, on behalf of the Regional Director of Health Services Western Region 1 Kanifing, Madam Sanyang thanked the Senior Management and the Health Centre Management Committee for dedicating their time and energy to the service of the institutions, saying “We have now embarked on a journey of transforming the health service delivery system of this country into a model that serves the interest of the population of this country at large.”
Ramatoulie Camara, Officer in Charge (OIC) of the FajikundaMajor Health Center thanked the general for gracing the occasion while applauding the staff of the major health center for their hard work and services to humanity.
On behalf of the Fajikunda Major Health Center, she thanked the Ministry of Health and Regional Directorate of Health Services Western Region 1 for their support of the health center.
The night was characterized by different data presentations from the facility staff followed by questions and answers, Mr Yaya Sanyang, a guest speaker gave a remarkable speech while some of the most dedicated and outstanding staff of the center were awarded.
