Mr Lamin Kaba Bajo, President of the Gambia Football Federation made a personal donation of a giant football trophy to Kombo North District Sports Committee at a brief ceremony held at Football House in Kanifing on Tuesday.
The donation came following a request made personally to President Bajo to assist the Kombo North Sports Committee in their logistical arrangements ahead of their impending district final at the weekend.
GFF Finance Director Mr Kemo Ceesay handed over the trophy on behalf of President Bajo to the Kombo North District Committee Chairman Mr Kutubo Sanneh. Mr. Ceesay congratulated the district Committee on behalf of President Bajofor their dedication and hard work to the growth and development of football in the district while assuring the Committee of Mr. Bajo’s continued and personal support of their course.
Receiving the trophy on behalf of Kombo North District Sports Committee, Chairman Kutubo Sanneh expressed gratitude to GFF President Mr Lamin Kaba Bajo describing him as a huge supporter of grassroots football development. “We know this trophy is expensive and could have cost our Committee a lot of money but thanks to Mr Kaba Bajo for coming to our rescue again.”
The trophy according to the Chairman is the main item in the logistics provided and will be staged in the forthcoming District football final between Madiana and Bijilo scheduled for Saturday 22nd July at the Lamin football field.
