Police Arrest Two for Alleged Robbery and Stabbing

The Police at Bakoteh Station are investigating a case of alleged robbery and stabbing that was reported early hours of Tuesday, 18th July 2023.

The 24-year-old victim, Ebrima Sowe, reported that he was attacked at the Bakoteh/Sanchaba junction while heading to the Serekunda market for his routine business activities.

He was accosted, stabbed, and robbed of D2,000:00 by two unknown assailants. The attackers fled after causing him multiple injuries.

The case was reported at Bakoteh Station for police action. As the victim was rushed to the hospital for medical attention, he managed to identify one of his assailants, who was eventually arrested by the police.

After thorough police interrogations of the first suspect, the principal assailant was subsequently arrested in the early hours of July 20, 2023.

The two suspects are under Police custody helping in the police probe. They are charged accordingly for offenses of robbery and assault.

The Gambia Police Force assures the public of its resolve and commitment to ending crimes by cracking down on criminals in every nook and cranny in The Gambia.

Additionally, the Inspector General of Police, Abdoulie Sanyang, also recognised the continued support and collaboration of the public in the crusade of collaborating with the police in combating all forms of crime.

Therefore, the general populace is encouraged to report all unusual happenings within their neighborhood to the nearest police station for necessary action.

In the same development, Police arrest ten suspects involved in motorcycle stealing

The Anti-Crime Unit (ACU) of The Gambia Police Force conducted a successful patrol raid in Farato, resulting in the arrest of ten (10) suspects involved in a motorcycle theft operation.

According to the Police four (4) of the arrested individuals confessed to stealing a tricycle in Busumbala and selling it in the Casamance border village of Darsilami.

The investigation also led to the recovery of at least six stolen motorcycles and during questioning, one suspect, SadibouSanneh, admitted to receiving stolen motorcycles from various individuals for sale in the border villages of Casamance.

The ACU is determined to continue gathering evidence and taking appropriate actions to ensure justice is served for all involved.
