Kerr Ngornyan YDC, LBS hold 5th speech and prize-giving ceremony

 Kerr Ngornyan Youth Development Committee and Lower Basic School recently organized an annual speech and prize-giving ceremony held at the school ground in Jokadou in North Bank Region.

Addressing the gathering at the celebration, the acting Headmistress, Adam NyanNdure, underscored the importance the school management attached to providing quality education to people of the community while recognizing the contribution of the Kerr Ngornyan Youth Development Committee in complementing government efforts in the attainment of quality education.

She noted that the 5th Edition of the school speech and prize-giving ceremony was jointly organized by the school and Youths Association, which has demonstrated their total commitment to the development of the children’s education.

 The School Management Committee (SMC) chairman, ChernoNdure, added that the support to the school by the Youths Association over the years contributed tremendously to the advancement of the school. He, therefore, called for more support and collaboration in strengthening education through joint action in the community.

 On his part, Modou K ANdure, Head of the committee prize/award management, also said the intervention aimed to support effective teaching and learning at the school by providing the school with textbooks worth D11,000 in 2013 and combining tables and benches for the ECD at the tune of D22,000. He noted that the association took it upon itself to always organize the speech and prize-giving ceremony every year to award outstanding students and promote academic excellence among students.
