The Gambia Standard Bureau (TGSB) in collaboration with the Gambia Chamber of Commerce (GCCI) trained over Fifty (50) Entrepreneurs on Certification, Standards, Calibration, Conformity, Assessment, and Metrology.
Speaking at the training held at GCCI complex in Bijilo, Sarata Konateh, Chief Executive Officer of GCCI Said what the trainees will learn will be an important element and tool for their businesses. “If you start it right you will always go further. Success is guaranteed even though you may have hurdles or challenges along the way but since you have the mindset that you will always provide quality and be honest.”
She, therefore, gave assurance to the trainees that the two institutions are open for any help that they need for their businesses.
Papa Secka, Director of TGSB also said that chambers are well to the highest decision-making structure, adding that under the leadership of the CEO, this is the first time that they can get such kind of mobilization of all the businesses so that they can share with them some of the things they are doing that help businesses to improve more importantly to also know how to access.
“The objective of this training is to share with you what areas in the quality infrastructure are pertinent to your businesses and we know that the main objective is to improve your bottom line which is your profit. But at the end of the day, you have to sell your products or services.
“Client have their business expectations and will be competing with your competitors within the country and outside the country meaning that the criteria that your customers apply to be attracted to your products are related to how best your products and services are fit for purpose that is where standards came in because they are the basis,” He said.
He noted that standards are very important within standards several other elements come together to be able to improve product quality and service so that they continue to access the Market and expand them.
