Officers of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency Gambia (NDLEAG) have recently apprehended six suspects for cannabis and drug trafficking in West Coast Region and its diverse places.
According to DLEAG investigators, Aminata Thoronka and Muhammed Salim Camara are Sirrea Loneans and residents of Kartong, on 1st August 2023 at 19:00hrs onwards, they were caught with wrapped suspected kush, noting that AminataThoronka was found with forty-three (43) Wraps concealed in white paper, and wrapped with a plastic bag and was hidden inside a bucket.
While Muhammed Salim Camara was caught with three (3) packets and forty-two (42) wraps of suspected kush that were concealed in a white paper placed inside a shoe within the premises of the compound.
However, Hamadi Sambou and Foday Jallow were also arrested by DLEAG Officers on 2nd August 2023 they were suspected of having cannabis sativa. She explained that Hamadi Sambou, around 16:10hrs onwards, was caught with fifteen (15) wraps of cannabis sativa that were concealed in white paper, placed inside a multicolor plastic bag while Foday Jallow was also arrested around 21:00hrs onwards with four (4) wraps of suspected cannabis sativa that were concealed in cement papers.
Meanwhile, Momodou Jallow and Ebrima Sonko were apprehended on the 4th of August 2023, and according to the DLEAG investigator, Momodou Jallow was caught with one (1) bundle, eleven (11) parcels and two hundred and four (204 )wraps suspected cannabis sativa concealed in a brown and white paper, placed inside a multicolor nylon bag with D100 note.
They also stated that Ebrima Sonko was arrested around 11:24hrs onwards with (1) parcel, (81) wraps of suspected cannabis sativa, and (17) pieces of cannabis resin.
However, the accused, Aminata Thoronka, Muhammed Salim Camara, Hamadi Sambou, Foday Jallow, Momodou Jallow, and Ebrima Sonko are in custody pending investigations.
