The President of The Gambia His Excellency Adama Barrow has declared Tuesday, 15th August 2023 a public holiday for the celebration of Assumption Day famously called Sang Marie across Senegambia.
According to a press release issued on Friday, 15th August 2023 states “His Excellency President Adama Barrow, acting under Section 76 (1) of the Constitution (1997) of the Republic of The Gambia, is pleased to declare Tuesday, 15th August 2023, as a public holiday throughout The Gambia, in observance of the Christian feast of Assumption of Mary (Sang Marie).”
The release added that His Excellency President Barrow wishes all those celebrating a happy feast.
