The leadership of Jokadu Development Association hailed the efforts of stakeholders and authorities for the timely maintenance of the road linking Kerr Amadou to Kuntair.
The road was cut off several times as a result of heavy downpours and the development has affected service delivery.
The roads have served their life span and as a result,communities are disconnected during heavy rains.
Speaking to The Voice, the Chairman of JokadouDevelopment Association, Alpha Sey, said the intervention of authorities through CSE Construction Company demonstrated their commitment to the well-being of the population.
He noted with concern that poor road networks in Jokadouhave seriously affected socioeconomic development and called on the government and National Road Authority to address these developmental challenges.
The Chairman of Kerewan Area Council, Papa Tunkara,expressed delight in the high level of cooperation at alllevels for the rehabilitation of the affected road.
However, Chairman Tunkara has been galvanizing efforts to work with CSE and NRA to fix the road, linking Bakalarrand Hakalang Highway to connect several communities.He called on the people of the area to support his council and development partners in accelerating timely response to the need of taxpayers.
He reiterated the need for communities to settle theiroutstanding rates and taxes to enable the council to provide much-needed services.
Chief Alpha Khan of Jokadou thanked JokadouDevelopment Association for its foresight in promoting all-inclusive participation in the implementation of projects and programs.
He underscored the importance of the rehabilitation of Kuntair-Kerr Amadou road in facilitating access to health, senior secondary education, and transportation of farm produce to markets.
Chief Khan thanked the people for their understanding and assured them of the government’s fullest support for road infrastructure development.
He, however, pointed out that the roads linking Kuntayaand Kerr Ngorr, Alhagie Malick and Dasilameh, Kerr Jane and Bali Mandinka, Kerr Selleh and Kerr Jane, Munyagenand Tambana, and Karantaba and Bakang were in need of rehabilitation.
