Pakistani Community forms Association.    

The Pakistani Community living here in the Gambia over the weekend formed their first ever association under the leadership of Kebba Kurubally, Pakistan’s Honorary Consul. 

In an event held at the Lebanese Restaurant around Senegambia  Beach Hotel, the association’s executive was elected into office. Mr. Muhammed Usman, a successful businessman has been elected as the association’s President.

The community’s members decided to come together irrespective of their political, religious/other differences to form the umbrella association.

The election was conducted by Sanna Jaiteh, Philippine’s  Ambassador to the Gambia. The election process was observed by Gambia’s foreign ministry officials.

It would be recalled that the community on August 14th marked Pakistan’s 76 years of  independence here in the Gambia . 

Addressing the gathering, Consul Kurubally on behalf of Pakistan’s government sent out a message of unity between Gambia and Pakistan. 

“Let us unite to address the social, political, economic and security challenges that lie ahead. By working hand in hand, we can ensure a brighter future for our beloved nations,” Consul Kurubally remarked
