The Minister of Gender, Children and Social Welfare, honourable Fatou Kinteh is currently attending the Ministerial Leadership Program (HMLP) organised by the Harvard University of Cambridge, Massachutts.
The objective of the Harvard Ministerial Leadership Programme is to enhance leadership effectiveness and political acumen, informs human development policy and investment priorities, and develop planning and execution capacity among Ministers.
This annual event will runs from September 15th to 18th, 2023, to nurture the next generation of global leaders, brought together a diverse cohort of ministers, diplomats, and government officials from around the world, all committed to shaping a brighter future for their nations and the world.
The HMLP, held within the hallowed halls of Harvard University, has long been a crucible for leadership development. This year’s program, however, promised something extraordinary—a reimagining of global leadership in the face of pressing challenges such as climate change, economic disparity, and public health crises.
In his keynote address, Dr. Margaret Simmons, a renowned Harvard professor, and former diplomat, who emphasized the importance of inclusive and collaborative leadership and urged attendees to break down silos and collaborate across borders to tackle the most pressing global issues.
The program will avail participants the opportunity to engage in series of workshops, discussions, and case studies designed to challenge their perspectives and inspire innovative solutions.
However, a specific session designed to focus on climate action, will also avail ministers from countries with varying levels of climate vulnerability to share strategies for mitigating environmental threats while promoting sustainable economic growth.
A panel discussion on public health where experts and policymakers will explore ways to enhance healthcare systems and bolster global preparedness for pandemics will also be conducted to focus on the recent global health crises.
The 4-day synergy will give participants the opportunities to network, share experiences, and forge connections that transcended geopolitical boundaries.
These interactions will foster a sense of unity among attendees, emphasizing the importance of diplomacy and cooperation in addressing the world’s challenges.
The 2023 Harvard Ministerial Leadership Program will serve as a catalyst for transformation and illuminates the path forward for leaders dedicated to creating a more equitable, sustainable, and harmonious world.
As the sun set over Harvard’s iconic Yard, the HMLP participants will dispersed with a certificate of attendance with the knowledge that they were part of a global network of leaders committed to shaping a better future for all.
