President Adama Barrow has disclosed that the NPP enjoys the goodwill of businessmen and “good Gambians” to erect political bureaux across the country.
“Good Gambians and businessmen help in the construction of bureaux. I want to tell the NPP supporters that they (businessmen and good Gambians) are generous supporters of the NPP. They invest their millions to help promote the NPP. They are people we should thank,” Barrow said on Friday as he delivered his statement at the inaugural ceremony of an NPP regional bureau in Bansang.
He revealed that his party was also constructing bureaux in Kerewan, Wassu and Soma, adding that the foundation stone for the party’s bureau in Banjul would be laid soon.
“You can be well aware that we are also building a bureau in Kerewan and work will finish soon. We bought a piece of land for the National Bureau in Serekunda. The inauguration of that bureau will be graced by even those in the US. That will be the NPP HQ. Let me give you that joyous tidings,” Barrow explained.
“We want to talk less and work more to ensure that the party is comfortable. We are different from others. We cannot be the same as others because we are the ruling party. We have to do the unprecedented. NPP is the original.”
Mr. Barrow said NPP cannot be uprooted in The Gambia even in 20100(Twenty hundred). He went on: “We want to tell our opponents…they’re making all talks saying in 2026, they will uproot the NPP. However, I can tell them that even in 20100, they can’t uproot the NPP. We are not kidding. We have come to work. We talk less and work more. Therefore, I want to enjoin NPP supporters to band together and be one family. You own this country. It’s Allah, who gave you this country. You must be proud. All those talking have their eyes set on these positions. So, you must be careful. And any day that they got these positions, you will be out.”
