The deputy lead counsel at the Local Government Commission of Inquiry has opined that the ex-finance director of Basse Area Council(BsAC) Lamin Suso was more “lucrative” than the BsAC itself.
Deputy lead counsel Patrick Gomez this week in a verbal encounter with Suso at the commission hinted that the ex-finance director was financially healthier than the entire area council.
The commission heard that Lamin Suso was a financier to the BsAC as, according to Suso himself, he single-handedly facilitated the payment of a 1by6 to the area council from money, he said, was acquired from a friend. Suso also informed the commission that he pre-financed some of the council’s activities through his goodwill.
Suso meanwhile has admitted involvement in numerous shady financial deals during his tenure as BsAC finance director.
Witnesses have also implicated him in numerous instances of financial impropriety.
He admitted making numerous unauthorized withdrawals from BsAC’s various bank accounts.
