The State on Thursday filed a bill of indictment in the deadly Sukuta/Jabang shooting case.
A Brufut resident Ousainou Bojang and his sister have been charged in connection with the deadly shooting of paramilitary officers at Sukuta/Jabang Traffic Lights on 12 September of this year.
While Ousainou has been slammed with charges of murder, acts of terrorism, attempted murder,and grievous bodily harm, his sister was charged with accessory after the fact to murder.
Ousainou is alleged to have caused the death of police constable Sang J. Gomez and PatehJallow by shooting them with a gun.
He is also alleged to have attacked police constable Sang J. Gomez and Pateh Jallow by shooting them with a gun allegedly resulting intheir deaths.
Ousainou also stands accused of attempting tounlawfully cause the death of police constable Ansey Jawo with a gun and also unlawfully shooting her with a firearm, causing her grievous bodily harm.
His sister stands accused of assisting him to flee the country to escape punishment despite knowing that he committed murder.
When the case first came at the Banjul High Court on 12 October 2023, the Director of Public Prosecution (DPP), AM Yusuf, sought an adjournment to prepare the bill of indictment, claiming that the prosecution was served with the investigation file the previous day.
The adjournment was not objected to by the defense, which asked the state to put their house in order on or before the 19 October 2023.
The case resumes on 24 Oct. at 12 noon for plea taking.
