The Gambia Public Utilities Regulatory Authority (PURA) on Wednesday received a two-man delegation fromย Autoritรฉย de Regulation-Mauritanieย at its Headquarters alongย Kairabaย Avenue. The delegation from Mauritania, which includedย Mahamย Abdallahi, a board member, andย Zamelย Mohamedย Mahoud, Head of Networks and Services, visited PURA to learn about the Quality of Service (QoS) system and other regulatory matters.
The visiting delegation expressed delight at the opportunity to visit PURA to enhance their understanding of regulatory-related works and how to improve quality service delivery. They also showed gratitude and appreciation to the PURA Management for the warm reception accorded to them.
Yusuphaย M.ย Jobe, the Director General of PURA, welcomed the delegates and emphasized the existing cordial and long-standing relationship between the two countries. He encouraged the visiting delegates to feel at home and make the best of their visit, as he assured them of PURAโs support and cooperation.
The visit by our sister regulatory authority from Mauritania is part of their study tour in The Gambia aims toย familiariseย themselves with quality-of-service standards. Introducing them to PURAโs mandate and its strategic functions, presentations and site visits were conducted for the Mauritanian delegation to provide insights into the equipment and tools used for maintaining the quality-of-service standards in the country.
