The former APRC spokesman Pa Modou Mbowe said he has yet to hear from ex-President Yahya Jammehsince he resigned from his post.
Mr. Mbowe resigned as the APRC mouthpiece months after failing in his bid to become the mayor of the Kanifing Municipality.
He was a close associate of former President Jammehand was once quoted as saying that he was in touch with Jammeh.
However, Mbowe explained to The Voice in an exclusive interview this week that Jammeh has yet to reach out to him since he resigned from his post as the spokesman of the Yaya Tamba-led APRC splinter group.
“Since I tendered my resignation letter, I still haven’t heard from the party leader Yahya Jammeh,” said Mbowe.
Meanwhile, according to him, the breakaway group has not yet filled the vacuum created by his departure.
“There is still no replacement. My former portfolio is a big shoe to fill. It is a big responsibility to shoulder,”he stated.
Mbowe said his departure from the Yaya Tamba-led APRC splinter group had shaken the faction but was quick to add that the group is still alive though it’s in a state of inactivity.
Asked whether he had plans to join another party, Mbowe replied: “I don’t have any intention of joining any party. Not now or in the future. I have a party. I have just resigned from my portfolio as the spokesperson of the party to take a break. I have been working for two good years. I have been working tremendously hard to make headway in the party that is currently ranked third in the political ranking. If I wanted to leave my party, I would have done that straight away. No one decides my life for me. I have voluntarily worked for the party for two years.”
Mbowe pointed out that the time has come for young ones to start where he stopped.
