The North Bank Magistrates’ Court recently convicted and sentenced one Ebrima Njie to a jail term of 12 years.

In her ruling, the Principal Magistrate Anna O. Mendy declared that the convict would serve the mandatory jail term with a compensation of D185,000 to HaddyMarong.

It could be recalled that Ebrima Njie of Essau Village in Lower Nuimi District on 13 January, 2023 was charged with two counts of shop breaking and stealing items including clothes from Haddy Marongworth D214,310.

At the start of the case, Mr. Njie pleaded not guilty to the offenses as charged.

However, the court found out that Njie was guilty ofthe two counts and should therefore serve the sentence and also pay the compensation.
