A Gambian national Landing Ceesay was on Monday granted court bail after denying allegations of robbery and wilful damage to property.
He was arraigned before Magistrate Mben Faal at the Kanifing Magistrates’ Court for allegedly robbing one Fatoumatta Sillah by holding her on the neck and then pouring a liquid on her body in an attempt to steal.
Ceesay was also charged with the offense of wilfullycausing malicious damage to property.
The particulars of the alleged offense read that Ceesay on or about 27 October 2023, at Porek Financial Services’ Bakoteh Branch, willfully and unlawfully damaged one door glass and one window glass valued at D40,000.
He denied culpability.
Sub-Inspector Kebbeh, prosecuting made an application to the court to deny Ceesay bail, saying he [Ceesay] was undergoing another trial.
He was notwithstanding granted bail in the sum of D100,000 and must have two sureties, who must be responsible Gambians, with valid ID cards.
The case resumes on 21 December 2023.
