Black & White were last Saturday crowned champions of Tujereng junior football Nawettan.
Their victory was decided in a post-match penalty shootout due to a goal drought in the 90 minutes of play and the four minutes of added time. The game produced several scoring chances but both sides could not capitalize on them to tilt the game to their favour.
The match went to a penalty shootout in which Black & White edged opponents Santa Yalla by four goals to two. Goal-keeper Abou Camara’s saves helped Black & White to clinch councilor Boto Bojang-sponsored Nawettan.
As part of the highlights of the final, certificates were awarded to referees and deserving players.
Black & White were given D10,000 and a set of jerseys while Santa Yalla received a consolation prize of D8,000 as runners-up.
The final was watched by the Alkalo of Tujereng KaramoBojang, a representative from the Sanyang Ward Councillor’sOffice, Tujereng VDC youth representative Lamin Ndongamong many other high-profile figures.
