The cattle herders in Lower Niumi have suffered a lot this year as they struggled to provide water for their animals.
This revelation was made by Ahmadou Sowe as he spoke on behalf of Lower Niumi at President Barrow’s first meeting in his Meet-The-People Tour.
“The herders said there is no water for their cattle. The herders suffered a lot this year and when they became desperate, they went to their friend Mam Alieu Cherno Mu Kerr Cherno, who sunk them a borehole. Ndofan, Mbollet, Chise and Kerewan all use this borehole as a drinking point for their cattle,” Sowedisclosed as he appealed for water assistance from the government for Lower Niumi herdsmen.
