In another development, the CEO of GACH Global, Dr Abubakary Jawara, donated D15,000 to three winners of the SOS French Competition.
Organized by EGALISE in partnership with the Abubakary Jawara Foundation, the competition was meant to motivate students who intend to take French seriously.
Jawara announced the donation during a tour with his partners, EGALISE, who are in Banjul to witness the distribution of medical and school equipment worth over one hundred thousand euros. The presentation was done at the SOS Children’s Village in Bakoteh.
Mam Jarra Saine of Talinding Upper Basic School won the first prize; Mariam Sirreh Jallow of Charles Jow Memorial Academy took second; and Abba Hydara of Tallinding won the third position.
The French NGO EGALISE also gave each of them 100 euros.
Out of his benevolence, the GACH CEO also donated D10,000 to the mothers of SoS Children Village.
Zam Piere, the SoS representative, commended the French NGO and Mr Jawara for their support.
He said a good number of Gambians are volunteering and supporting SoS through donations.
Musa Cise of Africell describes Dr Jawara as a source of inspiration and a key contributor to everything that is Gambian.
For his part, Dr Abubakary Jawara said his relationship with the EGALISE will reach all corners of the country. He reaffirmed his commitment to continue contributing to the development of the country, especially in the areas of health and education. He said GACH Global is a Gambian-owned company employing hundreds of young people. He urged Gambians to support their brothers and sisters who decided to invest in the country to create job opportunities.
