As a professional young artist with diverse skills, Modou Jagne, a young Gambian artist is taking a new dimension by using graphic art to promote the Gambia’s culture and history.
Modou Jagne is a graphic artist who creates digital designs, sketches, and paintings with the use of computer designing software apps.
This young artist also makes designs on shirts, postcards, caps, books, pens, and others.
His use of graphics to promote the Gambia’s history and culture was a result of his interest and passion for heritage, saying “My passion for history, research and exploration from a young age made me the history artist I have become today.”
“My works aimed at promoting Gambian culture and history through arts which is why my designs are always about the culture and history of The Gambia such as historical sites, landmarks, monuments, cultural artifacts, wildlife, and national heroes,” artist Jagne disclosed.
However, his diversification makes his works stand out among other artists thus he designs and puts the heritage and history of the country as his leitmotif.
As he promotes and adds value to Gambian heritage and culture, most of his work includes designing and printing souvenir items for the Gambia National Museum, tourists, and other visitors on vacation or lovers of artworks.
