The Gambia Football Federation (GFF) in conjunction with the Saudi Arabia Football Federation (SAFF) has recently held a four-day program of football development activities in the country.
Twenty-six referees were trained as part of the activities.
AFC-certified Saudi instructors Abdulah Alshalwai and Bader Alanaziconducted the training and were assisted by FIFA-certified local instructors Musa Jallow, Dickory Jawo and Babucarr Jallow.
Mariama O. Faal, Modou Lamin Sanyang, Hadrammeh Jah, and Omar Njie were awarded outstanding referees for the four-day engagement.
Speaking at the closing ceremony of the training, the GFF President, Mr. Lamin Kaba Bajo, thanked SAFF for rolling out such training to Gambian referees, emphasizing the importance that GFF attaches to refereeing.
He thumbed up the quality of refereeing in GFF leagues.
The GFF president assured SAFF that the partnership between it and the GFF will be consolidated.
The GFF General Secretary Mr. Lamin M. Jassey, Technical Director Mr. Sang John Ndong and Referees Manager Seedy Manneh attended the closing ceremony.
