The Gambian Child-Netherlands- Foundation will today begin screening bow-legged and clubbed-footed children to determine whether they should undergo surgeries for their conditions.
A doctor and five nurses have already arrived from the Netherlands through the instrumentality of the foundation to kickstart the screening process today to prepare the ground for life-changing surgical operations for clubbed-footed and bowlegged children.
According to the President of The Gambian Child, Mr. SaikouFofana, the screening will take place at the Bundung Maternity Hospital formerly known as the Jammeh Foundation.
“The objective of today’s screening is to determine those that should be eligible for operations. If you are lucky enough to be part of those to be operated on, we will give you an appointment to come back to Bundung Hospital, where you will undergo the procedure. Those to be operated on will spend a day at BundungHospital before they are transferred to Latriya for recovery. Monday is the screening day,” Mr. Fofana disclosed.
