Kassa Kunda Alkalo speaks about his appointment, says not by force

By Mustapha Jarju

Sheriffo Ebrahima Sabally who has been appointed Alkalo of Kassa Kunda has stated that his appointment to the position as Alkalo of Kassa Kunda is from the government

Alkalo Sabally stated this in his home village during an interview with members of the press over the weekend.

“I do not force myself to get this position, and I have never expressed my intention to look for leadership positions in this village with force, and even if I get it by force I will not accept it”, he stated.

He stated that he has no interest in anything like conflict and vowed not to take part in what will cause conflict in the village despite the fact they are creating conflict over the issue of the Alkaloship with harsh comments.

The Alkalo, Sheriffo Ebrahima Sabally, is occupying the position of their father, Alpha Elo Sabally, what worries him is the commotions over the Alkaloship that they don’t need him as Alkalo.

“What doubts me is that what is in them that they cannot accept my leadership, because I don’t hate anyone among them,” noting that Kassa Kunda is not two communities but only one.

He recounted that some villagers of Kassa Kunda belittled him, “and I used to sit and think what reasons for their hatred against me are, but I cannot find any reason”.

However, he reminded everyone that it is only those who appointed him as Alkalo who can remove him from that position, not those firing words at him.

Lamin Njie known as Mino, is a son of the Alkalo of KassaKunda, he said the issue in Kassa Kunda is not a problem but a program because not all the villagers are involved in this problem. He said it is just a few people who are using the name of the village for their interest.

He named some of the likely people who are not followers of the Alkalo and their conflict over the issue is not in the interest of the country or the development of Kassa Kunda.

He noted that some of these people who are not supporting the Alkalo are interested in selling lands in the community which are not even belonging to them.

Mr Njie disclosed that those fighting for his father’s position are not from an Alkaloship background while he asked how his father’s Alkaloship affects them.

Musa Sabally the Alkalo’s younger brother also mentioned among those that are causing commotion among the people of Kassa Kunda says it is leading to non-development in the community.

“What we want is that some of these people should distance themselves from our Sabally Kunda Alkaloship issue, we know them all, and the people of this community know them. They should remember that the present Alkalo and the past are both on good terms with each other,” Musa Sabally emphasized.
