The Voice Joins Sub-editor to Celebrate Prestigious Award

The Voice’s sub-editor, Nyima Sillah, has emerged as the winner of the prestigious GPU Children’s Reporting Award and The Voice family joined her yesterday to celebrate the coveted award.

Ms. Sillah joined The Voice in 2019 as a cub reporter and rose through the ranks to become an editor by dint of hard work.

For the past three years or so, she reported extensively on almost all areas of human interest but has exhibited exceptional skills in reporting on child issues thus earning her admiration in lots of quarters.

Last Saturday, Ms. Sillah mounted the podium at the GPU Awards at Sun Beach Hotel to be bestowed with the coveted award.

The Managing Director of The Voice cum editor-in-chief Musa Sheriff,Admin. Manager of The Voice, SaffiatouFatty, Layout Editor, Aji Sagar, editors Momodou LaminJaiteh and Yunus Salieu and staff on Monday joined Ms. Sillah at The Voice’s newsroom to celebrate the new feather on her cap.

“This is a great achievement not only for Ms. Sillah but the entire Voice family. I am not surprised by the award, considering what she has accomplished in her stint in the newsroom for the past few years,” Mr. Sheriff said.

“I feel honored to win this award. I am hugely excited because it’s my first time to win such a prestigious award. I thank my family, the management of The Voice, the staff, friends and my colleagues for their support and encouragement,” she acknowledged.
