Martina Foundation recently donated clinical materials to Katchang Clinic in Upper Baddibou District, North Bank Region (NBR).
The donated items include a bed, drugs, lenses, and sanitary pads.
Located in a remote part of the NBR, Katchang Clinic provides primary healthcare to around 2,000 people. It’s a struggle for some communities of this part of The Gambia to access health services as the nearest major health facility is located 30 miles away.
Team member of Martina Foundation Jerreh Sano reaffirmed the foundation’s commitment to “consistently” providehealthcare materials for the clinic which, he said, demonstratesthe foundation’s genuine commitment to uplifting the well-being of the villagers.
A nurse at Kachang Clinic Munir Hydara described the donation as hugely significant. He encouraged women to choose the clinic over home when it comes to childbirth as a result of the now-available materials which, he acknowledged, will promote safer deliveries.
Katchang native Ebriama Krubally expressed gratitude to the youth of Katchang for their hard work as he acknowledged the Martina Foundation’s “invaluable” contributions to the clinic.
Midwife Bintou Kabba described the donation as timely, saying the items would enhance the clinic’s capacity to provide quality healthcare services.
