Mr. Essa Wally, President of the Association of Customs, Clearing and Forwarding Agencies (ACCFA) The Gambia, has been unanimously re-elected as the president to run the affairs of the Association in the next two years.
He was re-elected at the association Annual Genera; Meeting AGM of the ACCFA held on 28th December 2023 and the AGM of the ACCFA was presided over by the Commissioner General of the Gambia Revenue Authority GRA at the Sir Dawda Kairaba conference centre.
He described the role of the ACCFA and its cordial partnership with the Gambia revenue Authority GRA over the years as one of the best.
He pointed out that GRA cannot implement its roles without the participation of the clearing and forwarding agencies, as he commended the leadership of the ACCFA for their commitment, dedication in complimenting the efforts of GRA to collect the much-needed revenue for the Government. .
Mr. Wally told participants that the forum is meant to reflect upon the accomplishments of the past year, make important decisions for the future, and strengthen the bonds that unite members as a cohesive association.
He described the AGM as testament to their commitment to transparency, accountability, and collective progress, adding that it is a time to celebrate the achievements of the past, acknowledge the challenges we have faced, and chart a course towards continued growth and success.
He stated that in the face of unprecedented circumstances, the ACCFA have demonstrated unwavering determination, adaptability and an unwavering commitment to our mission.
“It is through the dedication and hard work of each member that we have persevered and continued to make a positive impact,” the President cited.
“As we embark on this Annual General Meeting, let us reflect upon some of the achievements we have registered, signing of an MOU with the GRA, collaboration with the GPA, GRA and the SMG to host our visitors from Ghana which has culminated to an international recognition Association, the Executive is also in an exhaustive research to sign an MOU with the GPA.
President Wally advised ACCFA reaffirm our dedication to excellence, integrity, and the pursuit of our shared goals. Together, we have the power to shape our future, make a difference in the lives of those we serve, and create lasting change. Meanwhile all positions were re-elected except one and Momodou Bah PRO Chaired the AGM.
