Modou Lamin Njie, a Gambian national was yesterday arraigned before the Kanifing Magistrate’s Court presided over by Magistrate Mben Faal for wearing a Police Lacoste T-shirt without being a member of the Gambian Police Force.
Meanwhile, Alieu Bah, a police officer from Brikama narrated that when he was on duty around Kotu Tarvan opposite Welist Club some of his colleagues entered the club for investigation while he said he was waiting outside. He said he saw his fellow police officers dragging the accused, and seeing them, he said went there to help them.
He continued in his narration that the accused was wearing the Police Lacoste T-shirt “so we took him for confrontation and our boss confirmed that it was true and the accused was later taken to the anti-crime unit.”
Meanwhile, magistrate Mben Faal adjourned the matter to 30th January 2024.
