A Senegalese national, Abdou Khadir Gaye, on Monday appeared before the Kanifing Magistrates’ Court on four-count charges of theft.
According to court documents, Gaye sometime last year stole two mobile phones valued at D29,000; properties of one Eliman Njie.
He was also accused of stealing eight sets of women’s clothes from a certain Adama Laye in November of last year. The clothes were valued at D3500.
Gaye was also slammed with the charges of stealing D7000 worth of textiles from one Lamin Secka, D4,800 from one Ebrima Jabbie, and D20,000 from one Ndegan Nying.
He denied the charges.
He was granted D75,000 court bail and must provide two Gambian sureties as part of the bail requirements.
The case resumes on 16 January 2024, for a full hearing.
