Scorpions’ Flight to Ivory Coast Aborted

The plane that was carrying the Gambia’s national squad to Ivory Coast developed technical issues nine minutes after takeoff from the Banjul International Airport (BIA)onWednesday, reliable sources informed The Voice.

After a rancorous Tuesday evening, leading to the boycott of their last training session scheduled to take place at the Independence Stadium, the Scorpions embarked on a plane Wednesday afternoon to travel to Yamousskro to participate in the Africa Cup of Nations.

However, their journey was thwarted after the plane that was carrying them decided to return to the BIA reportedly due to a technical glitch.
