The Gambia Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GCCI) Thursday launched the 17th edition of the Trade Fair Gambia International (TFGI) platform geared towards networking and promoting business.
Speaking during the launching ceremony held at GCCI’s Head Office, the Chief Executive Officer of GCCI, Sarata Konateh, said the high turnout at the launch of the platform was a good sign, especially as regards women.
‘’We appreciate the participation and we pray to achieve our desired results. I hope that sales increase this year and I implore on all the participants to be more vigilant on their marketing,’’ she remarked.
‘’This is beyond four weeks of trade fair but we want long-term, growth and visibility, particularly small businesses,’’ CEO Konateh added.
Mrs. Konateh explained that the fair is not only for GCCI to collect revenue but also to receive feedback in the process.
The Chairman of the Trade Fair Committee, Saul Frazer, said TFGI is the leading business exhibition event in the Gambia, creating a platform for enterprises to network and promote their goods and services.
He stated that it also presents an opportunity for businesses to sell, partner with, and invest in viable SMEs from various sectors.
‘’In our pursuit of making this fair more accessible, we have increased the number of tents to accommodate everyone. This symbolizes the expanse of opportunities where businesses connect and prosper,’’ he emphasized.
‘’Moreover, our dedication to youth and women empowerment knows no bounds. This year’s fair promises an even more remarkable turnout than before with an expected 500 stalls, including entrepreneurs from across the ECOWAS region.TFGI is not merely an event but a convergence of aspirations, innovation, and opportunity. GCCI takes pride in fostering an environment where businesses thrive regardless of size or sector,’’ Chairman Frazer added.
