A meeting took place recently between the Gambian Ambassador to the Russian Federation, His Excellency Mr. Ebrima Ceesay, and the head of the national preparatory committee, Mr. Gibril Faal, in Moscow to discuss the nation’s participation in the upcoming World Youth Festival 2024, scheduled to be held in the city of Sochi, Russia, in March.
The meeting, held in the grandeur of the Gambian Embassy in Moscow, served as a platform for the Gambian Ambassador to be briefed about the World Youth Festival and to discuss potential collaboration opportunities for Gambian youth.
The primary purpose of the meeting was to inform His Excellency, the Gambian Ambassador, about the extensive preparations for The Gambia’s participation in the festival.
Mr. Faal highlighted the significance of such global events in fostering cross-cultural understanding, collaboration, and friendship among the youth of different nations.
The festival, he emphasized, would serve as a unique opportunity for Gambian youths to showcase their skills, exchange ideas, and build lasting connections with their counterparts worldwide. Recognizing the potential for collaborative initiatives, the meeting delved into discussions about partnership opportunities that could benefit Gambian youths.
Mr. Faal expressed keen interest in exploring avenues for educational, cultural, and professional exchanges between Gambian youth and their Russian counterparts during the festival.
His Excellency, the Gambian Ambassador, welcomed these proposals enthusiastically, emphasizing the importance of building bridges between nations through youth engagement. He commended the proactive approach in seeking meaningful collaborations beyond the festival.
