The Congo-based business concern KM Holdings has taken 100% ownership of Mega Bank, The Voice has gathered.

Mega Bank was reportedly sold by the Gambia government but the reported sale became known to many Gambians on Tuesday when UDP official Larry Ceesay told Coffee Time With Peter Gomez that the bank has been privatized.

According to Mr. Ceesay, Mega Bank was established with an initial US $600M and recapitalized two or three years later with another US$600M.

Efforts to reach the Managing Director/CEO of Mega Bank (Gambia) Limited, Mr. Momodou Njie, proved   futile as he was said to be in a   meeting.
