Haruna Tine, a Senegalese national is suspected of stabbing to death Fatoumata Kargbo, a Gambian who was working at a Forex Exchange Bureau located at Westfield in the Kanifing Municipality.
The suspect Haruna Tine is reported to have lived in the Gambia for some time.
Reports have it that he attempted to kill himself after stabbing the deceased Fatoumata Kargbo. He is currently admitted at Ndemban Clinic in Bakau and is being closely monitored by the police.
An anonymous police officer stated that he is being shackled on his hospital bed and the police are stationed there to monitor him while investigations continue.
“He allegedly stabbed the girl on her neck and attempted to stab himself on his stomach and ribs but he didn‘t die. The girl was rushed to Westfield Clinic but she died,“ said a source.
Meanwhile, Haruna Tine is receiving medical treatment while investigations are ongoing.
