Unique Group, a consortium of companies, presented the latest electronics gadgets to players and staff of the national football team of the Gambia in a ceremony at the team’s Hotel Parliamentarian.
The items, presented to each member of the team, include a RedMismart phone, smart watch, Bluetooth earpiece, weighing scale, wireless power bank amongst others. The presentation was done in the framework of Unique Groups’s two-year sponsorship agreement as the electronic partner of the Scorpions.
Presenting the items, the Chairman and CEO of UniqueGroup, Papa Yusupha Njie, said since technology is a central part of modern football development, his Group is delighted to partner with the Scorpions to ensure that they get all the technological support help to enhance performance and results.
The President of the Gambia Football Federation, Lamin Kaba Bajo, hailed the event as a groundbreaking moment for Gambian football and called on other private sector members to see football beyond its current context to a commercial industry that ensures a win-win situation for all its players.
The Honorable Minister of Youth & Sports, Bakary Y. Badjie, while thanking Unique Group for the gesture, said it is deserved for the players in the sense that it is their performance that is making the corporate world interested in investing in football.
