The Road Safety and Driving Standard Association (RSDSA) The Gambia, and the International Association of Road Safety Professionals (AIPSEV), Spain on Monday signed a collaboration agreement to work together in the area of road safety, training, exchange visits, among others.
The collaboration is meant to enhance road safety training, data governance, and knowledge through mutual learning.
Mr Njie Baldeh, Administrative Secretary for RSDSA Speaking after the signing of the agreement thanked the International Association of Road Safety Professionals (AIPSEV) for the signing agreement to fight and reduce global road deaths.
He said the the collaboration is very important, not only for the association but for the Gambia as a country.
“We need this type of collaboration, as Gambia is ranked 8th position in the global road accidents,” Mr Baldeh added.
“Our traffic police need more support, like training and equipment to enhance their work and reduce road accidents.”
Mr. Pateh Baldeh, Executive Director of RSDSA said the signing of this agreement is another achievement for the association, adding that his association’s objective is to work with all stakeholders in the area of road safety, being national and international to reduce road accidents.
He thanked the Spanish International Association of Road Safety Professionals for accepting their request inthe shortest possible time.
Rafael Ruiz Estepa, President of the IAssociation of Road Safety Professionals thanked RSDSA for the collaboration, adding this will go a long way in complementing both organization’s effort, when it comes to road safety.
“Hopefully we can help reduce the number of victims due to road accidents in your country,” the AIPSEV President added.
