Alleged Visa Deal Lands Man in Court

A certain Omar Sanyang appeared before Magistrate F. Darboe of the BrikamaMagistrates’ Court for an alleged botched visa deal.

Sanyang has been charged with the offense of obtaining D36,000 from one LaminKinteh on the pretext that he was going to produce a visa for him to travel abroad.

He denied any wrongdoing.

According to court documents, the alleged offense was committed on 6 November 2023, at Brikama in the West Coast Region.

Police prosecutor M. Fadera applied for an adjournment of the case to invite his witnesses to court. His application was granted and the case was adjourned to 26February 2024.

Kinteh was meanwhile given court bail in the sum of D50,000 and must have a Gambian surety as part of the bail conditions.
