The Minister of Public Service, Administrative Reforms, Policy Coordination and Delivery has underscored that Strategic Plan do help transformed Ministries.

Hon. Bababoucarr Bouy delivered this statement on Monday February 26, 2024 as he presided over the official opening ceremony of a three-day internal retreat underway at Jerre Camp in Sita Nunku, Upper Niuimi District of North Bank Region.

Organized by the Civil Service Reforms and Planning Unit under the Ministry of Public Service thus aimed at shaping the future direction of the sector.

“Our convergence here is an opportunity for all of us because we want to see the government head in the right direction.  I don’t want our discussions here be easy going, but instead, look at the document critically,” Minister Bouy urged participants.

According to Minister Bouy, if any Unit or Departmental head area was not captured in this document at the end of the retreat, the document can be described as incomplete.

Thus adding that “if we are talking about how you are going to relate to other institutions, you need to first see how you are going to manage yourself in getting this document implemented”.

Hon. Bouy described that the retreat would support his sector to serve as a chat way operation of the entire government machinery with a view to deliver its mandates.

Public Service Minister described PMO as an institution that is responsible for carrying out what should happen within civil service as far as personnel management is concern.

He explained that with the creation of the Public Service Ministry, he realized that for government to be more efficient, the creation of Public Service Ministry was timely because as he put it, the sector will not only deal with what PMO used to be doing.

“Am not here just like a minister, I will fully be part of your technical discussions. The little I have to contribute, I will contribute during the discussion period,” said Minister Bouy.
