Tommy Lee, a Jamaican dance hall artist is due in The Gambia in April.
The Jamaican artist is expected to perform alongside many Gambian artists in an event called the ‘Champions League Conference’ organized for the first time in The Gambia.
The event is organized by HOLGAM, an event, media, and telecommunications company based in Senegal, Ghana, and Ethiopia. HOLGAM has now spread its tentacles to The Gambia.
HOLGAM representative Habib Nyang informed this reporterthat his company was recently registered in The Gambia and they will be organizing a maiden event called the Champions League Festival to showcase a whole lot of Gambian artists.
According to him, HOLGAM is trying to integrate technology into entertainment topositively impact the Gambia’s music industry.
“Gambian artists will be allowed to perform in subsequent shows elsewhere on the continent. This will be a good representation of the Gambian music,” he said.
Ebrima Jatta alias DJ Mutabaruka said the event will be hosted on Qcity ground on the 20th of April, 2024.
He revealed that Husain Dada, Jizzle, A2, Miss Jobiz, and many other Gambian artists will be on stage during Tommy Lee’s performances.
“Tommy Lee is happy to start the event from The Gambia,” he added.
Ebrima Darboe alias Frings disclosed that the necessary arrangements were on track as he assured that the performances would offer a great experience for attendees.
