The Gunjur-based Sandeli Oil Trading Company Ltd. has grabbed the GRA’s prestigious 2023 regional award.
The CEO of Sandeli Oil Trading, Mr. Lamin Maiko Janneh, received the coveted award from the Senegalese customs chief Dr. Mbaye Njie at an elaborate awards ceremony held at KairabaBeach Hotel on Saturday.
Sandeli oil and gas company was not only recognized by the country’s main tax mobilization agency as the most tax-compliant oil trading company in the West Coast Region (WCR) of The Gambia but was also recognized for giving back to the communities in the region. The company’s medical, educational, job creation, social and agricultural interventions have stood it out as the most ideal winner for this praise-worthy award.
Established three years ago with just three staff on its payroll, Sandeli Oil Trading is now providing direct employment for over 100 people either at its filling stations or vegetable gardens. The company has diversified its operations to help promote sustainable water use by leveraging the power of solar energy. It’s also contributing to food-chain sustainability as well as skills and enterprise development for the youth.
