The Governor of North Bank Region (NBR) has hailed the proprietor and the management of Qcell for the maiden donation of Ramadan gift to the seven district chiefs in observance of the Holy Month of Ramadan.
He said the support is timely and is in fulfillment of the teaching of Islam, by promoting sharing and caring in this holy month.
Governor Lamin Saidykhan described the foresight as important, saying traditional rulers play important roles in society and the donation would reduce the burden and promote the teaching and learning of holy books and the hadith in the month.
He noted that the donated rice, sugar, and dates demonstrated Qcell Company’s commitment to complementing government efforts in promoting the welfare of local administration, and some numbers of people will benefit from this gesture.
The Governor expressed that Ramadan is a month of blessing while he called on Muslim Ummah to support one another as this will help in breaking of fast called iftar.
Chiefs Alagie Jagne of Central Badibou, Momodou Chatty Cham, and Chief George L Sonko of Lower Nuimi thanked Muhamed Jah, the proprietor of QCell company for the humanitarian gesture and his fulfillment of religion obligation in supporting the needy during the holy month of fasting.
