Twenty-one Nigerian nationals were arrested on Saturday by the Anti- Crime Unit of the Gambia Police Force after they were found in illegal possession of communication items.
The arrest came after an operation by the police based on intelligence gathered on suspicious activities involving a group of individuals residing in an apartment at SanchabaSulay jobe.
After a thorough searched of the apartment, police were able to recover various communication gadgets including Africell and Qcell Sim-cards, smartphones, iPhones, laptops, Rolex watches, routers, and a diamond tester.
Police investigators are currently probing into the matter to determine the veracity of the allegation before charges are being preferred against the suspects.
Meanwhile the office of the Inspector General of Police urges the public to continue supporting the police in crime prevention and detection efforts.
