Abubakary Jawara, CEO of the GACH Global Group Tuesday donated D150,000 to the Tujereng Sports Committee. The donation facilitated through the GACH Sand Mining Company, is earmarked for the community’s Nawetan, aptly named after Dr Abubakary Jawara, the GACH CEO and top Gambian philanthropist.
Amadou Manneh, the site manager of the GACH Global Group Sand Mining Company, reaffirmed the company’s unwavering commitment to community development initiatives. He expressed pride in GACH’s longstanding support to the Tujereng community and its environment.
“GACH has already sponsored the six communities along the Kombo Coastal Line sports tournament and will continue to sponsor any sporting and youth initiatives organised in this area,” Manneh said.
Cherno Njie, Chairman of the Tujereng Village Development Committee, echoed sentiments of gratitude, urging unity and patience among the sports committee members for continued growth. He commended GACH Global Group for its unparalleled contributions, noting that despite decades of sand mining in their community, no entity has matched GACH’s commitment to uplifting the community. Njieextended heartfelt appreciation for GACH’s consistent support, including donations of essential commodities such as rice and sugar through the Abubakary JawaraFoundation.
