Ferry services across the busy Banjul-Barra ferry crossing have been suspended until further notice.
This announcement was made by the Gambia Ferry Service Company (GFSC) on Saturday as the Kanilai Ferry was being withdrawn for repairs.
The GFSC said the two ferries that used to ply the Banjul-Barra route have all been withdrawn for maintenance.
The company advised travelers in general and vehicle operators, in particular, to use the Senegambia Bridge in the meantime.
Last Friday, rescue and emergency services sprung to action after passengers were stranded at sea following the breakdown of the Kanilai Ferry.
